“The Chesapeake Bay region has an extremely high level of 2nd homes and investment properties…especially when compared to the larger surrounding metro areas of Tidewater, Richmond and DC. When the nation’s housing market slowed, we felt it worse than a lot of markets.
“When we sat down with One South to discuss a strategic partnership in late 2012, we knew we needed a boost in technology and marketing. In just a few discussions, we quickly realized their understanding of how the public searched for housing would benefit us. We also quickly realized that being a part of One South was even better than just a strategic partnership.
“We have always had a lot of knowledge about the Bay, especially in the Middle Peninsula, it was just hard for us to reach the market with our message. We ended up doing a complete re-branding – logo, color palatte, brochure design – the whole thing. More importantly, we did to the total overhaul of our web presence and I cannot begin to begin to tell you how incredible that has been…it really opened our eyes to how powerful the web really is when applied properly. Bottom line is we look better, our operations are better and our ability to focus on sales (instead of administration) is far better than I ever remember. Oh, and by the way, the phone rings far more often than it did.
“Our next step is to learn how to do an even better job with our traffic and how to expand our reach. So much of our traffic is inbound and without existing Realtor relationships that when we begin to put systems in place to stay in touch with the people who have reached out, we will really drive some business…
